North Cypress Fitness Center has some of the best professionals and Group Exercise programs in the country to include cutting edge techniques and methods for all levels. With more than 100 classes per week in three group exercise studios, classes are geared for every fitness level and group exercise interest.

All group exercise studios are located in the studio area to the rear left of the club.  Printed schedules may be found at lobby desk, outside each of the Studios and near the Associate Locker Rooms.

Class Descriptions

Abs: A class devoted to ab/core strengthening and toning. Think planks, v-sits, 5-minute abs, and other highly effective ab exercises to strengthen and tighten your core. A must-do for flat stomachs and six-pack abs. This workout strengthens every aspect of your core musculature, including your lower back.

Beginning Yoga: This class is an introduction to basic yoga. It is designed for those who have no yoga experience, or very little, or more experienced practitioners who are willing to come with a beginner’s mind!

Body Blast: A 50-minute interval cardio and core training class for beginner to intermediate.

Body Pump: The original barbell class for men and women that strengthens your entire body. This workout challenges all your major muscle groups by using the best weight-room exercises like squats, presses, lifts and curls. Great music, awesome instructors and you choose the weight to challenge every muscle in your body and inspire you to get the results you came for – and fast!

BOSU: We are the first facility on the North Shore to offer this new, fun and exciting class combining cardio, athletic, strength and core exercises on a ball-like device. This class will enhance and challenge your balance and total body!

Hard Core Cardio: A total cardio workout.  intermediate - Advanced levels.  The class will alternate between traditional step and power Drills.  Followed by intervals of kickboxing.  finishing it off with some intense Core training.  Great for both men and women!

RPM: your RPM instructor will lead your ride through nine music tracks, using various riding positions and speeds to suit the terrain. RPM has been proven to burn up to 800 calories in one hour.  In a normal 50-minute structure, you can potentially burn 600 calories!

Strictly Strength: This class provides a full-body sculpting and toning workout. Workouts focus on all major muscle groups. Teaching focuses on proper form and technique.


Cardio Mixer: This class combines step class, weights, bar and aerobic sessions with a wide variety of music for a great cardio workout. A high intensity, high-energy class designed to get your heart pumping and your feet moving!

Circuit Training: A wonderful way to get a total body workout in and really crank up the fat burning zones. If your goal is to add lean muscle mass and burn some serious calories, then this is for you!

Core BOSU: This class incorporates challenging and effective exercises that requires your own body weight or the BOSU-ball to challenge your core. Enjoy the benefits of abdominal strengthening exercises, as well as improved posture while having a ball!

Fight Club Boxing: Must be over 16 years of age. An athletic –based class with focus on punching and kicking techniques on the bag. Appropriate for beginners and trained athletes alike! Hand-wraps or boxing gloves are recommended for this class.

Fit Kids: This program focuses on learning, success, and fun. They run, jump, throw and catch balls, do abdominal curls, jumping jacks, push-ups, learn about fitness and health… but most of all they have fun learning and exercising. Ages 9 & up; Fit Kids Cycle – Ages 11 & up

Hatha Yoga: You will experience the practice as a form of physical exercise that challenges and refines your flexibility, strength and balance. You will learn to control your breathing in a relaxed and modulated way in order to provide focus in the different postures. As you progress, greater flexibility of body and mind is gained. This empowers you to face life’s challenges with a balanced disposition!

Indoor Cycling (Spin): Please bring a water bottle and towel to class. In this traditional stationary cycling class, you will experience a variety of cycling situations including hill climbs, fast flats and exhilarating finishes while focusing on speed, power, intensity and technique. Challenge your strength and endurance as you conquer various terrains designed to improve your overall fitness!

Step: Utilizing an adjustable step, these classes bring your cardiovascular workout to new heights. This high-energy interval training class alternates intermediate/advanced step chorography with intensive muscle conditioning for a total-body workout.

Strength Training: Dumbbell weights for amazing muscular shape and tone. This weights only class works all the major muscles of the upper and lower body as well as the abdominals. Great for both men and women.


Tai Chi: Tai Chi emphasizes a calm and peaceful mind. The practice stimulates the central nervous system, enhances elimination of wastes and the circulation of blood, and channels the flow of energy through the body’s meridians. For people who wish to improve their health, fitness level, ability to focus, balance, flexibility, coordination, stamina, strength, body posture, power, and endurance.

Taoist Yoga: A system of stretching and movement exercises that coordinate your breathing with certain postures and movements. Its primary goal is to increase the vital energy moving into and circulating within our bodies.

Water Aerobics: A challenging workout in shallow water utilizing aqua equipment to train your cardiovascular and muscular systems. No swimming skills required, but comfort in the water is recommended. This class is a perfect cross- training option for any type of athlete!

Yoga: Guidance through yoga poses focusing on developing an awareness that resides in the inner body. Reawakening the intelligence of the inner body helps to relax and free muscles that are tightly bound. Simultaneously, the practice of yoga will strengthen and tone the whole body. Please wear loose clothing. Styles vary depending on the instructor.

4-Ever Young HiLo: Classes geared for healthy seniors. This program is targeted to a senior audience looking to improve their stamina, strength, and balance.

4-Ever Young Yoga: Through relaxing exercises, deep breathing and easy-to-learn stretches you will release mental and physical tension, enabling you to become more flexible, stronger, healthier and happier. It is done very slowly, working at your own ability level.
